Setting
A future, dystopian United Earth. High-tech, high-light pollution, restricts expression as the government hoards all the money. Stars are a thing of myth for pretty much everyone, and retro technology (aka modern earth technology) is the tech of choice for anyone who wants to attempt to rebel.

Background/History
Suzanna is the daughter of two Government tech officials, i.e. brought up with wealth and access to all sorts of technology. Her thrillseeking nature eventually leads her to becoming a hacker, codename v.6.i. And, in a bid to provide herself some entertainment, she steals a bunch of government files and drops them in the lap of a rebel girl group called the Kamigya.

CR Wishes
Six is a friendly sort who will gladly talk to most people, but she is not a beacon of morality by any means. (See: fanning the flames of rebellion for her own entertainment). I am totally open to taking her down any sort of path — whether that is forming CR which will feed into her amoral behaviour or ones who will balance it out and help her turn her focus and ambition to good purposes.

I'd definitely like her to meet other characters who like technology. Or characters who know nothing about it!

Species: Living magical girl weapon

Setting

Intention for this universe is fun and campy, sometimes a touch genre savvy. (I'm not looking to go too crazy on the genre savvy, just a dab here or there that's probably appropriate to how long-lived Passion is.) This particular storyline is overtly magical girl pastiche, but it connects with... whatever. It exists in a multiverse. Passion's original world is an all pink magical girl kingdom, but she can be the blade picked up in all manner of stories.

Background/History

Passion Flare is a living weapon. She was first gifted to the Empress Philomella by the primordial goddess of women, love, and beauty. This gift was a testament to the power of those principles, and Empress Philomella used the powerful sword to defend her kingdom against warmongers from other worlds who thought she would be conquered easily.

The Enduring Blade may only be taken up by a woman, in the service of good and justice and love. She is particularly drawn into lost causes that long for their deus ex machina to fall from the sky. Like a shooting star, the Enduring Blade will be there.

Sometimes she stays only for a single battle, and then releases her wielder from the violence of war. Some wielders, however, are able to see Passion Flare's true nature and develop a much closer relationship with her. In those instances, she spends more time as a peer than as a tool. A confidante, an advisor, and a friend. She has overseen the safety of empires for ages; passed on, befriended and inherited through family lines.

But the Enduring Blade is immortal. She is a fragment of divinity, with a purpose that will live on as long as there is a fierce heart still beating in the chest of a woman.

Her most recent wielder is a witch name Zenaide Haywood. Zee has been heartbroken and living under a curse for a long time. So Passion Flare has come to draw her into the fight for love and justice in order to unlock the potential that has been squandered for so long. Zenaide is living in a Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Halloweentown kind of story, so Passion has also been living with her in a mix of regular old earth and supernatural shenanigans lately. When not dragging Zee off on her magical girl battle of the week.

CR Wishes

This is a new character I cooked up during the misery of 2020, just something cheerful and fun. So that's what I'm the most interested in pursuing. Some adventure, some friendship! But I'm also never opposed to some negative CR. Passion is quite assertive and can be stubborn AF, so I can easily see her butting heads with people of different perspectives. She's pretty damn close to Lawful Good, so people with more flexible morality structures may find her frustrating and sanctimonious. I'm game, I'm down.

Setting
The world of Pang Gu is composed of Three Realms, the Celestial Realm, Jian, also known as the Living Realm, and Hell. While the Living Realm is known to be most foul at times, it sits nestled between the two realms in perfect harmony taking influences from both. That is until an unknown blight began to spread across the Mortal Realm in the form of a pungent purple mist that traveled up from the depths of hell. Everything that this mist touched would quickly whether away and die, causing an influx of impure spirits.

Background/History
Jingyi is a half-elf doctor hailing from the Celestial Vale who takes care of the family clinic on the outskirts of Wuyuan village within the Mortal Realm. His father was a Seeker, one of the chosen few picked by the gods to fight against the blight that began to ravage the land. When Jingyi is forced to seek aid from the capital city of Huangshan, his chance encounter with the Moon Goddess changes his destiny forever. (more info here)

CR Wishes
I'm very interested in having Jingyi meet other characters hailing from similarly themed worlds. He's a doctor by profession but a bit of louse sometimes since he loves drinking and gambling. While Jingyi honestly can be a little terse and rude at times, he's actually quite caring and sincere.

Name: Jadon (Jay) Mistral

Species: half demon (wolf spirit)

Setting

Jadon's setting is a pseudo-old timey France that is partially inhabited by demons. Humans are aware of them and know to keep their distance, but as humanity encroaches further on the demons' natural habitat, conflicts between people and demons fiercely protecting their territory have become more frequent. Some towns and villages attempt to placate their local supernatural entities with tributes and gifts, while others employ demon hunters who actively hunt and kill demons who threaten human settlements. After Jay's older brother leaves to become a demon hunter, Jay makes it a goal to follow in his footsteps.

Background/History

Jay and his brother, though half demon themselves, were raised by their village under the false impression that demons were responsible for the death of their mother. (The reality was very different and spoiler alert: the villagers were the bad guys.) Jay became Deaf at a young age due to a fever and was brought up relatively sheltered by his brother, who conversely became quite bitter and obsessed with becoming a demon hunter and getting his revenge. Nevertheless, Jay looked up to him more than anything and, as a consequence, set off years after his bro left the village to become a hunter himself.

He is handy with a bow and his daggers (both crafted from demon bone), and enjoys certain advantages from his demonic heritage including very sharp eyesight, enhanced strength, and the ability to sense evil intent. He also has a berserker wolf-person mode that he can't control and doesn't know very much about.

Personality-wise, he is naive and quite idealistic, very curious about everyone and everything, and intensely eager to prove himself. He may or may not have some deeply buried abandonment issues. He isn't patient and will often act before fully thinking out a plan, especially if it means helping someone who looks like they need it. The only thing that really makes him grumpy is treating him like an idiot because he can't hear.

Communication-wise, Jay's native language is a pidgin between home signs and early Fantasy-France sign language (which lbr - like most fantasy sign languages, if I narrate it, it'll be ASL). I am thinking the communication devices might be able to interpret some of his sign through Magical Means, but he won't necessarily enjoy using it, because for him there's no way of telling how accurate it is. He'll probably prefer reading, body language, and speechreading (lipreading).

CR Wishes

Jay is great to bounce your angry and taciturn types off of, because he is naturally a very skilled reader of body language! He is definitely a Persistent Friendly Sidekick type. Fellow foolishly enthusiastic adventurers would also be great team-ups, for all our shenanigan needs!

Age: 6; adult mentally and physically
Species: Sylvari - think 'colorful plant elves' and you've got the gist. They're all born as adults with skills and knowledge given to them via a mysterious process, and are empathic with other members of their race.

Setting
Guild Wars 2; which is a fantasy MMO with aspects of steampunk and magitech all rolled together. (You'll see only the asura using holograms and computers while charr are out there building tanks and humans have airships, etc). The main conflict of the setting involves the powerful Elder Dragons awakening with the goal to absorb all the world's magic, prompting the various races to band together to fight for their survival.

Background/History
Colerus is a non-main character OC from the Guild Wars 2 MMO. He's an explosives expert and a grease monkey-type engineer; he loves making and playing with dangerous toys. He's generally cheerful and also endlessly curious, happy to chatter on even about things unrelated with his pet specialties. (He also swears a lot, but since it's in plant puns it tends to not land with the severity it should).

The tl;dr of his background is that he moved to the city of Lion's Arch very early in his life to work as a blacksmith's apprentice, but was caught up in a major attack on the city by the villain Scarlet Briar. He came away from it with a condition called Scarlet's Rattle, a form of asthma caused by chemical agents. After that Colerus joined the large scholarly order named the Durmand Priory, and spent a couple of years as part of a small guild named the Sandford Cabal who uncovered evidence of a dragon cult. Some time after the Cabal joined the second military push in the Maguuma Jungle against the elder dragon Mordremoth, Colerus ended a long-term relationship and resigned from the Cabal in protest of their investigation being co-opted by the Order of Whispers. More recently he's joined a Priory expedition into Elona to help their study into the effects of the Dragonbrand there.

CR Wishes
Anything! Colerus is a friendly sort and he'll want to know everything about this new world and the worlds that other characters come from. He's also the sort who loves taking apart tech to figure out how it works, so it's a good thing no one can bring a car in, that's all I'm sayin'. He'd be going to Cloud for sure.

Name: Pearson 'Pierce' Langford

Setting
Pierce is from a Weird West setting in 1900s America. Think of it as a historical version of pulpy supernatural horror, where myths and ghosts are real and you might actually run into a cryptid if you're unlucky.

Background/History
Pierce is much more of a dandy than a cowboy, an old-fashioned gentleman who smokes cannabis to take the edge off of his anxiety. He hails from the growing city of Denver, where he started a small ranch and bred horses to support what was left of his family. He married one of his farmhands, a mysterious woman named Emma who didn't talk much about her past. They had a happy marriage, until she was murdered under strange circumstances, and Pierce found hidden journals detailing her former career as a monster hunter.

Pierce became somewhat obsessed with matching Emma's accounts of monsters to regional stories, and that in combination with the economic panic in the late 1880s lead him to selling off his horses with the intention of chasing down some of those rumors himself. Over the last five years Pierce has become a traveling paranormal investigator, gaining himself some small fame after escapades like an encounter with a ghost train, an investigation into the Boggy Creek Monster, and a run-in with the El Muerto headless horseman of Texas.

CR Wishes
Since he's likely to be older than most other characters brought in, Pierce would do well as an uncle figure or just a level-headed voice in the room. He's a fairly soft-hearted guy and prefers asking questions over shooting first, so despite his career Pierce wouldn't necessarily be antagonistic towards more monstrous characters, just suspicious to start with. I'm planning on putting him in Stone for variety's sake.

Modern day Earth where vampires, werewolves, witches, and sirens live in secret. All but the vampires can live normal lives alongside humans because they can't go out in the sun and need human blood to survive. Needless to say, they're super bitter about it.

Background/History
Christine is a nurse living in New Orleans who discovered the world is secretly full of supernatural creatures. Vampires kidnap her to use in a ritual that would allow them to walk in sunlight, but it backfires and she's imbued with the power of sunlight instead. Now she's in hiding so the vampires don't try and use her again or just straight up kill her because of what she could do to them.

CR Wishes
Meeting other people who have to deal with magic, or meeting people who aren't human. It's all very new to her and she's trying to come to terms with it all.

It's also said that people once possessed magic too. Nowadays, there are ancient ruins with stories surrounding them about about magic, but no one thinks it was real.

Background/History
A carefree, rich playboy who is living life to the fullest before he has to settle down, take over the family business, and produce heirs. He does wild, reckless things in the pursuit of adventure and new experiences. His greatest wish is to discover that dragons still exist and to slay one.

The world of the MMO Elder Scrolls Online is Tamriel, a large continent housing ten races and three alliances vying for control of the Imperial City. It's a world where the Divines are pretty hands off and the Daedric Princes are pretty hands on, scheming to mess in the affairs of mortals for their own amusement or to gain followers and power.

Background/History
So this is a big maybe, but I think it'd be kind of fun to play one of my many ESO characters here. Most likely my main, a Dark elf Nightblade (has skills that focus on stealth, assassination, and siphoning the life force out of people). I would reduce the amount of guilds she's in to probably just the Thieves' Guild and maybe the Psijic Order. So she'd basically be a sneaky stealthy gal, used to doing unsavory things for profit. I also have a Breton Sorcerer who is heavily involved in Antiquities, so basically an archeologist who digs stuff up for a museum and would be so nosy about the lost ruins. I have two Necromancers and that could be cool for the whole "You raise people from the dead???" conversations. Really, I'm just throwing this out there to see if anyone else is thinking of bringing in an OC from Tamriel, either from ESO or any of the single player Elder Scrolls games.

Age: Don't ask me for specifics yet, but she's in the Tiefling equivalent of her 70's -- and it shows!
Species: As I mentioned above, she's a Tiefling -- pale skin, pink eyes and curved horns, and a long, thin tail.

Setting
There's nothing much remarkable about the setting she hails from; it's still something I have to work on! For now, imagine whatever you'd play your standard DnD 5th Edition campaign in.

Background/History
Sincerity left her little village in her early 20s to attend [Bard School for Bards], then promptly flunked out her first semester due to some seriously shitty singing. Undeterred, she decided to become a "bard idol" -- a "profession" that unfortunately required her to nigh-on constantly forsake her namesake for the sake of her brand. Her music, as some called it, approximated something like the high fantasy equivalent of this. She amassed a small cult following on her tours, in part due to her eccentric fashion sense (live lobster for a giant hair clip) and the non-musical services she'd provide concert-goers (love letter writing, petty and pretty pathetically produced forgeries, "fortune telling" that amounted to her simply telling you what she thought you might want to hear, etc.). Now that she's had to retire, she lives off providing these and other silly services -- but boy, does she miss being a young, beautiful disaster.

CR Wishes
She's old!! She needs your help -- and not lifting things or getting from place to place, either. No, if she can, she wants some magic to make her hotter and even more "talented" than she was at her peak. Please request her assistance in your love affairs (she still writes a mean love letter -- sometimes literally), throw out her hips dragging her on your adventures, and be kind to her lobster hair clip. He's her closest friend. (Thanks to her career and difficult personality, she's really not been good at making -- let alone keeping -- friends.)

Setting
Takes place in modern day Japan in the fictional city of Nakawacho. Having magic is illegal and those seen using it are to be immediately arrested. People who use magic are called Mancers and can control some kind of element. Due to the illegality of it, the yakuza have been growing in power with Mancers joining their forces.

Background/History
History
TL;DR: Hinata is a luxmancer who doesn't know his parents and starts his life out in an underground fighting ring. He eventually escaped and found himself sworn into the Ueno Clan for life. After a few years go by, he is offered a promotion as long as he fulfills a certain mission involving some girl. But he ends up not going through with it because he doesn't want her killed and goes on the run instead to save her.

CR Wishes
People who get him to actually emote! This man is a brick wall sometimes and rarely smiles so he needs to loosen up. Other than that, he can be the wise old man that can offer some advice once in a while. Give him some youngins that he can big brother, he'd love it. As long as they're fine with fighting. Besides that, bring on anything! Friends, love interests, enemies, etc!

Species: Sylvari - a humanoid form that is plant! They're born of a tree—the Pale Tree—and have a really interesting history to them. But as she is right now she knows ZIP about this.

Setting
Guild Wars 2 is her home, a MMO where there are dragons waking up and wanting to destroy those that occupy the world if they're not their minions. And there are those (player character included) that are trying to either kill the dragons or find a way to pacify them so that we can all live in harmony!!! /o/

Background/History
Zivis is an oddball for her people, and that's saying a lot considering how eccentric they all seem to be. So her people are all connected to the Dream and there are some people that choose to go down a darker path (Nightmare) or they're of the mindset to distance themselves from the Dream (Soundless). She's of the latter path though she has a few loved ones that are of Nightmare.

She's spent moth of her life in the waters of Caledon Forest which are where Sylvari hail more or less. Zivis refuses to exit them, preferring to live and learn under the water. As such she's pretty much mute from spending all her time in the water, she could heal herself probably...but most of the time she chooses not! Zivis is an elementalist so she's got control over all four elements as well as arcane. If I choose to put her at a different canon point than I've already written for him, then she'll also master the elite skill sets of Tempest (haven't played with that one enough to be able to explain it other than a boosted Elementalist?) and Weaver which is a blending of two elements and their attacks.

CR Wishes
A N Y T H I N G. At her current point she's very uh...sheltered. And doesn't really trust a lot of people. So I want her to learn that the world isn't as scary as she thinks it is. But that might change if I get my booty in gear and write the changes to her story.

Setting
Istavan, god of law and order and arcane magic, found a world that had no other gods, and hid it away so he could be the only deity the people knew of and amass the power of ALL their belief. He formed a cult, the cult became a religion, the religion formed a church, the church started a crusade, and pretty soon Istavan's followers ruled the world. His chosen general were blessed with arcane power and became the world's first sorcerers.

It is now a couple hundred years later and the descendants of those same sorcerers rule still the world as an aristocratic elite, citing the magic in their blood as proof of their divine favor. No one can stand against them because no one else had magic. Society wasn't really FAIR but it was, at least, fairly stable.

Until one angry grad student stumbled upon a method by which someone with no sorcery in their blood could still cast spells and became the world's first wizard.

Aesthetically imagine, like, 3 parts D&D, 2 parts Les Miserables, and 1 part Fullmetal Alchemist.

Background/History
Samata had an uneventful life as a student at the university until her graduation party, where a drunk sorcerer accidentally cut her arm off with a magic phantom blade. She tried to get justice but was told in no uncertain terms that since he was an aristocrat and she was a commoner, she would not make any progress, and would actually get in trouble herself if she kept bothering people who actually MATTERED.

She went on to deal with the ensuing depression by taking on post-grad work and developed a prosthetic arm that was powered by ambient magical power in the atmosphere to replace the one she had lost as her thesis project, and in the process she discovered that anyone alive was able to cast spells. She started teaching other people how to do it, the church told her that continuing this would be heresy and she needed to stop upsetting the natural order of things, Samata put her middle finger up at them, and things spiraled out of control from there until there was rioting in the streets.

Species: Alternian Troll

Setting
Auditi's a troll kid from Homestuck's planet Alternia - a member of a species of violently combative warmongering aliens who leave their children unsupervised on their home planet while the entire adult population is by imperial mandate out conquering the galaxy for the glory of their empress, Her Imperious Condescension. Alternia itself is a rough place to try to live; basically every animal and most of the plants are hostile and dangerous, the climate is frequently deadly, the empire's semi-automated systems monitor the population to cull the weak, and young trolls are frequently only too eager to pick fights and to reinforce the social hierarchy on their lower-caste peers. And that's on top of the normal stresses of being a kid and growing up.

Background/History
As an indigoblood, Auditi is in a pretty good position, as far as such a thing exists on Alternia - she's a member of a very high caste, which on one hand gives her greater social freedoms and access to more resources and better education, and on the other hand is associated with greater physical strength and stamina and less susceptibility to psychic manipulation than most trolls have. Auditi also, personally, has an extremely high pain tolerance, even for a troll of her color.

She chooses to use this very good position to cultivate an extremely finely tuned sense of her own physical limits and a frankly upsetting fascination with cosmetic body modifications. It's an artform. She is very intent that you understand that it is an artform and if you are freaked out by it that's because you're hopelessly uncultured. Auditi can be dismissive of lower-status kids and is inclined to meet sufficiently harsh criticism with violence, but by the standards of highblooded trolls she's pretty easy-going.

She hopes, as an adult, to serve the empire as a maker of prosthetic limbs - and may be planning on undergoing one or more elective limb replacements herself at some point in the future. (Not until she's fully grown, though. Young trolls are comparably sized to human kids, but highbloods grow much larger than humans and Auditi's got enough sense to wait until she's not going to have to repeatedly refit herself for correctly sized prostheses.) In the meantime, she's collecting a bunch of piercings and a few tattoos, and she's trying to find someone who can do horn carving to her specifications.

She's also a minor hanger-on to the Cult of the Mirthful Messiahs, the circus-themed death cult that backs the empire's elite Subjugglator enforcers. She's not a clown herself - participating in the full rites of the cult is a Very Bad Idea if you're not a purpleblood, and Auditi's a step below that - but she's friendly with clowns and would describe herself as a sideshow act.

CR Wishes
Positive or negative CR would be great - trolls don't draw much of a distinction between friend/frenemy/enemy, and unless you're directly threatening her in a way that she has to take seriously, Auditi is likely to consider all attention good attention. This is a fantasy world where magic has taken a turn with the rise in mixed technological advancements. Many forms of magic are used and accepted, but they are treated as a "science." Less scientific forms of magic or special abilities are seen as either backwater or outright abominations and people with inherent magical abilities tend to downplay them or hide their use. If it isn't a magic that can be studied, categorized, and broken down to base components, then people generally think it's either a fraud or don't want anything to do with it...unless it proves beneficial to them of course.

Background/History
Ulari comes from a middle class business family and was born with the Sight. An ability to use touch to see visions of both the past and the future. As a child he used this to try and help his family's business, but under the guise of having "business acumen" and a "strong intuition" because having an ability like the Sight is looked down on or even treated as being a freak. And when his visions started turning dark in nature, he tried to intervene to prevent the negative outcomes from happening, only to make things worse. People stopped believing him and at times even blamed him for the negative events coming to pass. For years he was trying to save people's lives, prevent economic downturns, and once he was a suspect in a murder for a year until the real killer was apprehended. That situation really sent his reputation into a downfall and he was at the end of his rope. If he couldn't stop all of these bad things from happening, why did he keep having to see them?

His best friend stepped in and helped him work through the trauma...by convincing him to not give a fuck anymore. To focus instead of living a happy life himself and leave other people to their fates, no matter what they may be. It's not his job to save the world (even if some part of him really does think maybe he has this ability because he's supposed to save the world). He did what he could and people turned on him for it so fuck them. He instead stopped listening to his conscience and started listening to his wallet. He became a remote financial advisor to some very wealthy (and many very corrupt) individuals who would send him sentimental objects and items from their lives that he could use to see into their futures and give advice on what things they could do to increase their wealth and success. Sure, this means he has a lot of dirt on a lot of very influential people, but they don't know who he is because he keeps his real name and location a secret and instead had random couriers around the country who nondescript packages from different drop boxes and then have them sent to him. Recently though a lot of the futures he's been seeing all have a similar thread. An apocalypse is coming.

Being told that the Devourer is coming will just feel like a confirmation of the Bad End he's been sensing in his own world and so he could definitely have his conscience pinged to push him into finally trying to save the world again.

ANYTHING. Ulari is chill and does not give a fuck. Mostly. Like he cares about people and wants good things for them, but also he's tired and has been burned a lot by people turning on him for trying to intervene where he wasn't wanted. So he will go with the flow and try not to set his expectations too high. Ever since that fated day, she's made it her life mission to search for her big brother and willingly plunges into the Dusk Zones to find any leads that will lead her to him.

Currently, Nikola's an urban explorer, finding and exploring abandoned places while filming her experiences. She's banking on some minuscule, but persistent hope that she can bring her brother back home; that is if the monsters or other supernaturally gifted humans don't get her first.

Despite her fearlessness towards external dangers, Nikola is rather reserved and introverted in quieter moments. Ideal CR for her is are warmer and optimistic personalities to help bring her out of her shell. Background/History Vel is a talented mage, born and raised in a city of wizards and scholars. She grew up as one expects in a place like that, eventually becoming an adventurer once she became older and able to defend herself. Though eventually she took a break from that and became employed under nobles of her home kingdom as an advisor. Life among wealthy nobles was nice for a bit, and being seeing enough of their boring lives and corrupt ambition made her yearn for adventure again. Guilt of being associated with them and helping enable some of their awful actions had Vel thinking of hiding from them too, eventually hearing about a mysterious forest that she decided to make her home. The forest hid a deep secret that Vel had unearthed, a cave network underneath the forest possessed an ancient ruin that was neither magical or mundane for it was a technologically advanced installation left behind by people the ancients have regarded as visitors from the stars.

Setting Goro hails from a Dungeons & Dragons fantasy setting that is sort of vaguely European Renaissance/early Age of Sail. Some cultures have gunpowder and printing presses and feudalism is generally out of fashion, but older styles of gear and combat (particularly augmented by magic) have not yet been entirely replaced by early firearms.

(I keep a lot of the setting non-specific when I play him, as I'm open to stapling settings together if other D&Ds are interested. As long as dwarves exist, gods exist, and I can do my own thing with lizardfolk worldbuilding (in particular I don't use the "they're inherently amoral and emotionless" thing 5e added), Goro's flexible.)

Background/History Goroket was born to the Bitten River people, a small nation in the wetlands no less territorial than most lizardfolk communities but with a somewhat warmer view of things like written language, advances in tools and craftsmanship, and not eating people just for looking at you funny. But they still had insular tendencies and did not develop new arts as quickly as others in the outside world, and one friendly, idealistic acolyte of the technically-dead lizardfolk god of civilization was increasingly taken with the idea that his people could become more than they were - if only someone would reach out and work to forge better bonds than they had. And so he did.

He has since been many years an adventurer, though much of it was scattered odd jobs and local villains and he has never saved the whole world. He has particularly worked to build trade agreements and diplomatic ties, valuing these things far more than personal wealth or glory, and at times acted for no reward at all simply because it was the right thing to do.

CR Wishes
-As mentioned above, I'm up for merging with compatible settings and working out shared history if any D&D folk are interested. Goro is firmly Lawful Good, though, and there are limits to his tolerance of openly criminal/villainous party members.

-He is very much the archetype of the Chill and Friendly Big Guy, and will readily help strangers and serve as "cool uncle with lots of teeth" where needed. (That said, he isn't pushy with characters who don't seem to want help or friendship, so he's not the best match for types who are initially very hostile.)

-As a Forge cleric he is, in addition to a priest with magical abilities, also a blacksmith! He can't do full sci-fi engineering, but it's still a practical trade skill that might have some CR or plot hook uses.

However, the ADF managed to capture him later on and "tag" him, which suppressed almost two-thirds of his magic. He killed some of them and escaped, after which he met Ciro (another witch). Ciro helped him, and currently, they live together running a tea/coffee shop that's mostly a front for their spellwork/witchcraft. Still very much set on destroying the ADF, but now, he has to figure out how to get his tag off.

The world's going to Hell. Literally. 50 years ago rifts from Hell started opening up around Earth and demons poured in. Their goal? Take over Earth. The only reason it hasn't happened yet is because they have to rely on Hell Mages to open rifts for them and Hell Mages need years of training/get killed regularly by angels. (Heaven's a whole 'nother matter and humans don't really believe it exists).

There are government funded demon hunting groups and a lot of freelance groups, too. They work endlessly to fight back the demons and protect people from them, no matter how dangerous the work is.

There's a whole bunch of different types of demons, from monstrous to humanoid to shapeshifters who can blend in with humans. Demonism can spread among humans through dark magic, rituals, and demonic artifacts and is generally treated like a disease. Humans who turn into demons are either killed or locked up, usually, and half-demons are trusted about as much as actual demons.

Background/History
Vander was born a half-demon but never knew his demonic father because he and his mother separated before Vander was born. He never knew he was a half-demon until he was in his 20s, after becoming a demon hunter following a demon attack on his high school. His mother confirmed the truth and Vander was left conflicted.

After the demon hunting group Vander was a part of found out about his heritage, they turned on him and used and abused him. He was eventually rescued by another demon hunting group who were appalled by his treatment, and he's since settled in with them. Despite knowing he's a half-demon, the new group treats him well, encourages him, and supports him. Not everyone is a dick to demons, just most people.

Modern day earth. Scientists around the world are running experiments and tinkering with embryos to try and recreate whatever happens to cause people to naturally be born with super powers. The government is pretty interested in people with super powers and while they're not tracked down or kept a close eye on, governments around the world sure would like those people in their armies.

Background/History
Nico is the product of embryo tinkering performed by Russian scientists. His family needed money and his parents signed up to be part of the project. Russian officials found out about the project and raided it, and all of the families involved scattered to the wind. Nico's family relocated to America, where he was born.

In school, he met a boy named Blaine, who he would later date when they were both adults. Blaine also turned out to have super powers (flight and super strength) and while Nico took to the streets at night as the masked hero Cinder to stop crime, Blaine took to the skies as Falcon. Neither of them knew the other's secret at first, and they fought a lot because Blaine kind of kills criminals while Nico doesn't, so Blaine's something of a well-intentioned villain.

To make a long story short, they eventually find out each other's secret, reconcile, and work together while continuing to date. Nico eventually asks his parents about where he got his powers, then goes to Russia to try and find out information, where he finds out that the children of the project are being hunted down there. He agrees to help the other surviving children stop this and wipe out what's left of the project leads.

Was because he had gone and done an unauthorized raid on a rogue mage school that had tried to kidnap some of his nestmates to use them for their experiments. Nithal's got a bit of a protective streak, as you can probably imagine. Background/History Powers sealed and memories wiped as a child, Nic was adopted by mage parents who helped him become the man he is today - it's only been about a year or so since he found out about his true heritage through a couple freak incidents as well as his real father coming back into his life. He's been dealing with that alongside juggling his job and social life, which isn't exactly an easy feat considering that he's essentially a magical assassin with specializations in being able to crack barriers, imbue objects with power, and now also singing in order to infuse objects with power. It's a lot, but he tries his best.

Honestly, minus the magic assassin thing, he's a pretty good kid, all things considered.

Nothing that requires too much specific knowledge - pretty typical fantasy world, with an alchemical theme. Nine kingdoms based on the classical metals, she's from the Kingdom of Gold.

Background/History
The short version is that her dad murdered her in order to sacrifice her heart to a Dark Lord for his own cowardly protection. Due to some magical shenanigans, her soul became bound to one of her dolls, which was discarded and eventually ended up abandoned in a cave for 200 years. Eventually, a party of adventurers passed through and she was able to get their attention, they severed her connection to the doll, and now she lives(?) as a free-floating spirit, trying to catch up with everything that happened during the last 200 years that she missed.

Despite all that dark background, Ivy's actually quite cheerful! She's super sociable, seeking out people to hang out with and enthusiastic about learning new things. The one thing she can't stand is being alone, on account of all that deep, deep PTSD from behing alone in the dark for 200 years. She jokes casually about her grim history because if she doesn't, other people take it seriously, and then she has to take it seriously. Suppress that trauma! Background/History Long story short she suuuuuuper fucked up as a young'n and now works for her god for all eternity bc her god is an asshole 8') Her main schtick is being a keeper of the balance, essentially she travels her realm and the mortal one to try and fix problems that could eventually undo the ties between them both. She's a shaman and also a v tired babysitter.

Background/History: Valryn is the second born and oldest son to a moderately powerful matron in a large city-state in the Underdark, raised under a ferocious mother bent on overtaking matrons in higher standing than her while raising the first born daughter that's always been above him. Valryn early on in life observed ruthlessness, tenacity, poise, and aspiration. unfortunately, his fate was intended to be something more akin to his sister's bodyguard than having a position of power, but in being trained so closely to his sister for the potential day that she would take over as leader in their family, Valryn was more inspired to take after her — or even take over.

throughout formative years and into early adulthood, Valryn practiced magic in secret with other men in these feuding families who also desired something better than borderline-disposable guards to their families, but the small clan of them ultimately didn't last when Valryn's closest confidant was arranged for marriage into another family and broke off his ties to their group — this news and action betrayed Valryn primarily of all. Valryn, king of self control that he is, made the bright decision of attempting this once-ally's life out of revenge for being a 'traitor' for his choice in self-preservation by departing an already lofty goal of male magic practitioners overthrowing their families' expectations of them. it goes fantastically — bad for Valryn. in his failure that becomes swiftly known between the opposing family and quickly his own, a demon of revenge comes to him, sensing his failure and feeling kin to it, and in their bitter shame, they offer Valryn a pact.

deciding on saving his own skin in the scorching earth aftermath of a very not-diplomatic move and dressing it up as a "to hell with you all" maneuver, Valryn leaves the Underdark to come up to the surface world, because if drow already hate him, then it can't be much worse up top. it's there that he begins weaving his own standalone 'empire,' using what meager wealth he could cash out (steal) from his family to begin establishing an organization of services. he deals primarily in information he schmoozes out of people, or buys, or...gets through other means. he also collects protection money and hires the derelict drow he can track down that have been banished from or have escaped the Underdark as street-level soldiers for him. it's a surface-level drow-run mafia, basically.

Valryn himself is charismatic, unabashed, delights in unsettling those who aren't prepared to deal with him, challenging, and loves information. he loves scheming, gossiping, and genuinely enjoys himself...up until he is or decides he's been slighted. for where he comes from and has ingrained in him, he strangely has the potential to shift from chaotic neutral into chaotic good if he believes it suits him somehow, even if just touching upon his personal morals and codes, but for his age he's still quite young and in a new world that he's playing the long con to put his own reigns around.

CR Wishes: combative cr (not necessarily negative, but i'm always open for opposites attract, or at least...opposites getting stuck together against their will,) people from similar fantasy settings OR people from very different settings, and also...those who might actually give him the sense of community he's tried to establish before and failed to hold together, even if it's a group of absolute misfits, he can help class up the place. (also people who like to challenge others in fun ways, dangerous stunts for the clout, friendly sabotage on each other, love to enable and escalate shit. is this making friends?) i've never played Valryn in a game, only memes and psls, so i'm really curious to have him in this setting with other OCs! no knowledge of D&D needed to interact, his brand of ridiculousness is universal.

Background/History: Izzy is a minor celebrity chef and self-taught alchemist from the coastal metropolis of Concord, who was conscripted against her will into a heist of a set of enchanted gems with world-redefining powers. For months, she was jerked around the world, through the Overworld and the Nine Hells, running from pursuers and trying to stop a wannabe god from achieving apotheosis. Standard adventurer fare, really.

She's prickly and arrogant, though her time with her party and the scenarios she's been dragged through have softened her up.

CR Wishes: Since I'm thinking that Izzy's going to be taken from post-campaign, she's going to be very annoyed that she's being forced into an adventure-like situation without her consent... again. While she'll be looking to establish some kind of shop again, I'd love for her to meet with anybody and everybody!
