But she's pretty much her own sort of grenades/shotguns? Why use extra tools when ice shards and causing fire to fall from the sky works just as well. :)

Setting Goro hails from a Dungeons & Dragons fantasy setting that is sort of vaguely European Renaissance/early Age of Sail. Some cultures have gunpowder and printing presses and feudalism is generally out of fashion, but older styles of gear and combat (particularly augmented by magic) have not yet been entirely replaced by early firearms.

(I keep a lot of the setting non-specific when I play him, as I'm open to stapling settings together if other D&Ds are interested. As long as dwarves exist, gods exist, and I can do my own thing with lizardfolk worldbuilding (in particular I don't use the "they're inherently amoral and emotionless" thing 5e added), Goro's flexible.)

Background/History Goroket was born to the Bitten River people, a small nation in the wetlands no less territorial than most lizardfolk communities but with a somewhat warmer view of things like written language, advances in tools and craftsmanship, and not eating people just for looking at you funny. But they still had insular tendencies and did not develop new arts as quickly as others in the outside world, and one friendly, idealistic acolyte of the technically-dead lizardfolk god of civilization was increasingly taken with the idea that his people could become more than they were - if only someone would reach out and work to forge better bonds than they had. And so he did.

He has since been many years an adventurer, though much of it was scattered odd jobs and local villains and he has never saved the whole world. He has particularly worked to build trade agreements and diplomatic ties, valuing these things far more than personal wealth or glory, and at times acted for no reward at all simply because it was the right thing to do.

CR Wishes
-As mentioned above, I'm up for merging with compatible settings and working out shared history if any D&D folk are interested. Goro is firmly Lawful Good, though, and there are limits to his tolerance of openly criminal/villainous party members.

-He is very much the archetype of the Chill and Friendly Big Guy, and will readily help strangers and serve as "cool uncle with lots of teeth" where needed. (That said, he isn't pushy with characters who don't seem to want help or friendship, so he's not the best match for types who are initially very hostile.)

-As a Forge cleric he is, in addition to a priest with magical abilities, also a blacksmith! He can't do full sci-fi engineering, but it's still a practical trade skill that might have some CR or plot hook uses.

Samata was also inspired by a D&D campaign (One I was slated to be in that never got off the ground), but her setting as it currently exists is pretty weird so stapling Goroket's universe to hers would be kinda weird. I can go into more detail if you like but basically the idea is that the god of Law and Order and Magic "Sorted" her world so that every race had its own nation and every nation was separated by miles of monster infested wastelands. He wanted everyone to STAY IN THEIR LANES and STOP CHANGING. GOD CAN'T YOU PEOPLE JUST STICK BY THE STEREOTYPES FOR YOUR RACE IN THE PHB?

So if that's too out there then as a backup I offer a simpler CR hook: Samata is an amateur blacksmith herself, and could benefit from instruction from a pro!

Setting
Modern US but urban fantasy. Demon hunting families are largely underground and supernatural creatures remain in the shadows, many often unseen by the regular humane ye.

Background/History
From his profile:
– his family comes from a longstanding tradition of defending humanity and protecting the weak from supernatural forces.
– he is the best fighter in his family of hunters, sharp and smart; though not always a people-pleaser, his family is important to him. despite all of this, he has always had a secret desire to experience life as a regular boy, straddling the line between living as a normal 20-year-old college student and following tradition.
– unaffectionate and too blunt sometimes, he tries to be serious especially since he knows he has a sweet, unassuming face, but underneath there is a human heart with an understanding that some beings just need to survive in this world.
– he's easily defensive and doesn't keep many friends, though few have broken down his barriers – he's secretly thankful for it. given his life and family history, he's reluctant to keep anyone close to him lest he put them in the line of danger. he seems selfish in his desire to remain aloof but in truth he is deeply concerned about the safety and wellbeing of others.

– she is the only surviving member of the freshman dance team who had been reported as killed in a bus accident en route to school after a dance competition. in truth, an evil spirit had entered each of the students one by one, turning them against each other, taking them down a murderous path
– essie had been somewhat sheltered in her upbringing though she had dipped her toe into the waters of rebellion once in a while, especially when she began dating – she did not believe in spirits until she was nearly possessed by one.
– only essie knows the truth, but due to her bubbly, kind, and almost ditzy nature, she knows no one would believe that she had faced down the spirit herself. it was her inherent goodness and cunning that allowed her to escape the bloodbath, though she still has nightmares of being covered in blood

Someone she can actually open up to! It's hard keeping up appearances and the burden of her secret will eventually get to be too much.

Setting
Detailed information is here. To tldr, urban fantasy setting. He lives in a big city with another witch. Their apartment is directly above the coffee shop they own and operate. Magic is pretty much outlawed and supernaturals exist but humans (who have control of the government and legislation) have made it difficult for them to exist unless in hiding. Human-passing individuals have an easier time than those who aren't, and so they pretend to be human business owners to avoid trouble. After hours they use magic in secret for additional income.

Background/History
He was born in Japan, and had an accident involving his magic at a young age. Since then there are parts of his abilities he doesn't bother to explore further. Ciro has a strong preference for plant/earth magic. He's also an empath. Although he can sense people's feelings/emotions he cannot manipulate them. The only magic he has any interest in studying is herbalism, healing, and glamouring spells.

CR Wishes
Anyone. Ciro is pretty much a mom friend for the people he cares about. Because of his empathy he is susceptible to taking on the feelings of those around him, CR with anyone who might want to play with that could be fun! He glamours himself with different hairstyles constantly and doesn't usually stick to just one look.

Setting

Essentially (sort of) urban fantasy with a lot more supernatural than actual fantasy. Larus' canon is set in a world that's divided by the social classes of supernaturals and humans where a group called The Factory outsources supernaturals in ways that are most usually illegal (think enslaved police, tbh). They're into some shady stuff in connection with the vampiric presence constant to the city.

Background/History

In-depth info HERE, but Larus is on a mission to find the vampire who turned him and pretty much destroy him. He's the loner type but still somehow manages to make friends, though he doesn't prefer it since no one else needs to know about what he's doing. Very ~ mysterious ~ but actually has a lot more humanity than most of his kind. He gets roped into a cause along the way (with his potential canon love interest) which has him reevaluating a lot of things and also makes him more determined than ever to kill all the vampires in The Dusk.

Setting

Very much urban fantasy where supernaturals have to live/survive in secret. Humans run the government/are the majority, and with the help of the ADF have figured out how to enslave/capture/use supernaturals in whatever way benefits them. They are also notorious for genocide.

Background/History

In-depth info HERE. Rune is a witch on the run—so to speak. His entire family was wiped out when he was young by the ADF, and ever since, he's vowed to kill them all with his magic. However, the ADF managed to capture him later on and "tag" him, which suppressed almost two-thirds of his magic. He killed some of them and escaped, after which he met Ciro (another witch). Ciro helped him, and currently, they live together running a tea/coffee shop that's mostly a front for their spellwork/witchcraft. Still very much set on destroying the ADF, but now, he has to figure out how to get his tag off.

CR Wishes

FRIENDS, though Rune is definitely more of a negative CR type person given his personality. He does warm up though, and he's much more fond of supernatural peeps than humans (for obvious reasons). Come at me, and we'll see where things go?!
